Bondhu, an organisation of artists, has arranged a group art exhibition featuring artworks by 11 artists at the Safiuddin Shilpalay at Dhanmondi in the capital.
Artists have displayed 67 artworks highlighting nature, rustic life, women’s struggle and others in the six-day exhibition, which began on Friday.

The artworks comprise paintings, prints, tapestries and so on. The exhibition has been dedicated to the late artist Rahat Nilufar of Bondhu.

Artists, namely Alfa Begum, Irani Ahmed, Wahid Zaman, Jyoutsna Mahbuba, Farid Hossain Siddiquee, Md Alamgir, Shamim Ahmed, Shammy Yasmin, Saeeda Kamal, Sahid Akter and Hosna Banu Chotna have displayed their artworks in the event.

Among the artworks, Irani Ahmed’s mixed media fabric artwork titled Robin 2 shows a Magpie Robin sitting on a barbed wire.

An acrylic painting titled Heart Blows by Farid Hossain Siddiquee depicts a group of pigeons.

A watercolour painting titled Spring in Chichester portrays the scenic beauty of Chichester in the UK during spring.

Shammy Yasmin’s woodcut work titled Heritage depicts Mughal structures.

Human rights activist Khushi Kabir was present as chief guest and artist Professor Naima Haque was present as special guest at the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition.

Nirmalya will end on Wednesday.
